Kappler Farms is a full service barn for hunters,
jumpers and equitation riders and their mounts. We are located just 45 minutes
North of Chicago, in Barrington, Illinois. The barn was founded by professional
showjumper Chris Kappler and his sister Katie along with their mother Kay
Kappler. Chris and Katie were trained by showjumping great George Morris.
Chris was an alternate for the 1996 US showjumping team for the Olympics in
Atlanta. Our facility is a beautiful riding stable located on the grounds
of Horizon Farm in Barrington. Horizon Farm is a thoroughbred training facility
located in Barrington, Illinois. We go to manu Horse shows a year in the Midwest.
Florida and the east coast. We show at the indoor finals at Harrisburg, the
Washington International Horse Show and the National Horse Show in New York.
Showjumping is a sport where horses jump over a series of obstacles and receive
penalties or faults for knocking down rails. The fastest horse with the least
amount of faults wins the competition. Hunters are horses which are judged
on their appearance, conformation and manner of going in the show ring. Hunters
are judged over fences and on the flat. Equitation is an equestrian discipline
which focuses on the rider. Equestrian sports can be a psitive confidence
building experience for the participant. Riders trained at Kappler Farms have
gone on to compete and win in all levels of equestrian competition. Come and
